Portuguese Mortgages

We have achieved significantly reduced delivery times of mortgage products in that country and can offer people the choice of the banks. Our target market is both the English-speaking non-resident and resident alike.

We spend considerable time in Portugal as we do not want to rely on third parties to negotiate with the banks on behalf of our clients.

Perhaps you already own a property in Portugal or maybe you have bought off-plan and would like to explore the mortgage options.  Will the bank recommended by the local selling agent offer you the best deal or will you be paying a premium for dealing with a bank where the staff speak English? Mortgages in Portugal are based on Euribor rates (usually 3 month Euribor) plus a spread. As these rates have fallen the banks have tried to increase the spreads considerably for new customers.  We are much more likely to negotiate a competitive spread than most buyers. Further reductions may be available if you also take a credit card, ATM card and other products from the same bank.
 
Many people are interested in buying a property in the sun, be it for investment, holiday home, or a bit of both.  If Portugal is somewhere you’ve considered but don’t fancy the red tape and language barrier that goes with it, then you should speak with us first.

As with our Irish mortgage service, we offer to look after everything and will coordinate proceedings with the lawyer, the bank, the selling agent and of course with you!
